Princess Tea Party

I made the Wilton Castle Cake for my daughter's 7th birthday party.  We had a princess tea for the girls and pampered them from head to toe by painting their finger and toe nails (which put the flip-flops to good use).  It was so much fun!

Birthday Flip Flops

Here's an idea I got from a fellow mom.  To give the average flip flop some festive flare, simply tie water balloons around each of the straps.  So easy and so cute!  I'm using these as party favors for my daughter's birthday where we're painting the girls' toenails.

I got the flip flops at Target for $2/pair and bought the water balloons at the Dollar Store.  You can choose regular or florescent color balloons.  You can also create all different patterns.

Minnie Mouse

Here is a picture of the Minnie Mouse cake from my daughter's 3rd birthday party.  I simply added a bow to Mickey's head ; )

Fireman Party

My son's birthday party this year was a fireman theme.  By making a donation to our local fire department, they actually brought a fire truck to our house for the big day.  It was a ton of fun for everyone!
We also did a "sawdust scramble" for the kids.  Instead of using real sawdust, I bought "pet bedding" from a pet store.  Its kid-friendly and free of any chemicals they use to treat wood.  We hid coins inside the sawdust and the kids had a blast!

Christmas Cookies

'Tis the week for baking.  We made LOTS of cookies this month, but the sugar cookie cut-outs are always my favorite.

Advent Wreaths

This week the kids made advent wreaths out of rice krispy treats with pink & purple jelly beans.  It was a great way to talk about the meaning of advent and the significance of each candle.
